On a recent trip to Ireland that I took with my husband and my 83-year-old aunt, my aunt often mentioned the fact that Ireland is "Forty Shades of Green." This is especially noticeable as you pass over the island, as you fly into Dublin. Well, that is exactly what inspired me to create this quilt for my aunt to remember our trip to "The Emerald Isle."

I gathered forty different green fabrics and, after piecing into 2" squares, selected some special photos from our trip and "scattered" them over the surface of the quilt, and appliqued them down.

I also enjoy using your wonderful photo transfer paper to create labels for the back of my quilt. I first make the label using my computer, print on high-quality inkjet paper, and then off to the copier, to have it copied onto your transfer paper. After that, I just iron the transfer onto fabric and sew to the back of my quilt. This is the label for my "Forty Shades of Green" quilt.
