"Peppermint Twist" is yet another Twisted Sisters quilt!
Sharon Tharp, a newsletter reader, suggested the name and I just had to make a quilt to go with it. A call went out for red and white striped fabric in the February 2002 Ami-Simms-Newsletter and thanks to 46 very kind readers I was able to amass a huge collection peppermint twist fabric and thus "Peppermint Twist" was born.
I found a great white on red polka-dot fabric for the block centers. I inked wide red marks to make the polka-dots look like more like the candy. (Click on the small picture above and you'll see what I mean.) Now all I have to do is sew the blocks together, and…..er…FINISH IT IN TIME!
"Peppermint Twist" (hopefully) and a bunch of other Twisted Sisters including "Truly Twisted," "Mom Always Like Me Best," "Hot Flashes," and "Key Lime Slime" will be exhibited for the first time at The Quilt & Sewing Fest at Myrtle Beach April 25-27, 2002. I won't be there, but if you swing by be sure to take a peek at the exhibit.
The Twisted Sisters Rotary Template & Patterns should be available for purchase mid-April 2002. If you're a vendor at Paducah or Myrtle Beach, e-mail me at amisimms@aol.com
