My husband and I decided that since we were going to be able to live (as far as we could tell) in the year 2000, that we should complete a special goal during the year.
My husband, Doug, was able to secure a copy of a journal of one of his ancestors and wrote a book about him. I decided to buy your book and make a memory quilt.
I didn't get my goal completed until 2001! Some days, I'd pull out all the boxes of material, embellishments, etc. only to pack it all up again so I could set the dinner table. I didn't have a sewing machine that could do free-motion quilting but I went forward with the quilt top anyway.
My prayers were answered when I learned that I could take my own project to a quilt class. It took me a semester of one evening a week classes to machine quilt!
I have it hanging on my living room wall and people who see it say nice things about it.
