This quilt might not take the prize for the "worst" but I hope it's the worst one I'll ever make! It was a fairly decent looking snowball quilt top until my horrible layering/basting and bad quilting decisions ruined it.

I pinned the backing to the carpet, and spray basted the batting to it. Then I sprayed the top of the batting and rolled out the quilt top. It was a terrible job, but I decided to quilt it like that anyway. I was too new to realize just how bad it would look if not basted correctly. For the quilting, I found outline embroidery designs that represented my son's interests and places he has visited. I found about 60 different ones. It might have been a cute idea, but the problem was that I had used a print for the snowball block and then used navy blue thread for the designs. They totally clash with the quilt top! And some of the designs are much heavier than others so it is not uniform at all. Factor in my lousy basting job, and instead of the "quilting making the quilt," it destroyed it!
